01 · The brief

The brief.

GG Construction is a multi-business group operating across construction services, with several sub-brands sharing infrastructure but each addressing a distinct market. The brief: a site that lets a visitor land on the parent and find the right sub-brand in two clicks — without the parent feeling like a holding-page.

02 · Context

Context.

Construction-group sites are usually one of two shapes: a thin parent page that sends every click to a sub-domain (no narrative, no group identity), or an over-built parent that smothers the sub-brands beneath it. Neither is right for a group whose strength is breadth.

The audience splits across three readers: a domain client looking for a specific service, a recruit evaluating the group at the parent level, and a partner or investor looking for scale and track record. Each needs a different entry point on the same site.

03 · The approach

The approach.

Two-tier information architecture. The parent site frames the group story, leadership, and projects portfolio at scale. Each sub-brand has its own surface inside the same visual system — not a separate identity, but a shaded variant of the parent that signals difference without breaking trust.

Routing

  • Parent home → group story, leadership, scale, group projects.
  • Sub-brand pages → one per division, with shared chrome and adapted accent.
  • Projects archive → filterable by division, sector, location, scale.
  • Enquiry flows routed by sub-brand to the right team.

04 · What we shipped

  • Information architecture and brand mapping signed off.
  • Visual system — parent identity with division-level accent variants.
  • Projects archive schema — ready to populate.
  • Enquiry routing model agreed with the operations team.

05 · Outcome

What changed.

The IA, brand mapping, and visual system are signed off. The build is in progress while project content is finalised with stakeholders. We expect the public site to ship inside the next two engagement cycles.
